ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONS
Body Maintenance: Stretching & Foam Rolling – Mr. Brad Benson (CAC Faculty)
Body Maintenance: Stretching & Foam Rolling is for everyone who wants to learn strategies to better care of their body. Whether you are trying to cool down after intense sporting activity or energize your body on a calm weekend morning, you will learn an easy full-body circuit that can be done anywhere you have a foam roller and some space.
Power Ball – Girls Get Strong Leadership Team
Love the game of dodgeball? Empower Ball is GGS’s version of that! Rather than taking aim at your fellow girls, we are taking out our insecurities! First team to take down all their insecurities wins!
Hot Power Vinyasa Yoga – Ms. Ashley Gramolini (CAC Faculty)
Hot Power Vinyasa yoga means…. you will sweat, but you will not die. You will tap into your personal power, but you will not be yelled at. You will move your body but not twist yourself into a pretzel. Following a series of asanas (postures), students in this class will strengthen, stretch and transform their bodies. Through these classes in a non-air conditioned room, students are encouraged and challenged to explore the possibilities within their physical bodies. The physical practice is accessible to people of all athletic abilities and from all walks of life. This class will be the ultimate wake-up call. This practice has the power to change lives, communities, and the world.
Pressure – La’K Renee Fitness (CAC Parent)
This class is a rigorous interval training sequence with high-intensity exercises. It builds cardiovascular fitness while improving muscular strength and endurance. This class is designed to target every area of your body. You will be challenged to push your limits and walk out feeling strong. No matter what your fitness level is, this class is for you. (Modifications will be provided)
Spikeball – Ms. Riddle
Taking over the world as the next great sport, some say if volleyball and foursquare had a baby it would be named Spikeball. Spikeball is a fun, active, and competitive (if you want it to be) 2 on 2 outdoor indoor sports game played on college campuses, tailgates, the lawn, yard, backyard, beach, or gym with rules kind of like volleyball!
Women With Weight – Ms. Deakin & Nadia (CAC Faculty & CAC Student)
This class will strengthen and tone your entire body using light weights and high repetitions! We will learn safe and effective exercises for all major muscle groups: legs, arms, back, and core. This will help you achieve strength and introduce lean muscle conditioning. The class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced. No prior experience with weights is required.
Zumba – Ms. Fides (CAC Faculty)
Zumba Dance Movement is designed with intervals of high and low-intensity dance moves. While grooving to its beats, you can burn calories and improve overall health, coordination and endurance. It is also a fun, versatile body workout.
